Summer Magic: Mermaid and Waterlily Fairy -- Free Blog Graphics

These are two vintage images. The mermaid was painted by E.S. Hardy, and the little fairy was painted by F. White, both talented artists of yore.

I would like to splash a bit in some water. It is very hot here. We are having record temperatures, in the 100's. Sometimes I go thru the McDonald's drive-thru and order a big cup of ice-water. Then I dump it on myself, in the car, right over my little pea head and down the neck of me dress.

The last time I did this, the manager came to the window and gave me two coupons for free iced coffees! He's a nice guy.
Right-click to save. Hope ye enjoy.

Elegant delicate lovely fairy and mermaid!

Now are you serious about dumping the water on your head in the car! Really? Are you teasing us, cause you never tease. You're straight serious. Well, I'd at least get out in the drive through and dump it on my head.

I hope your weather breaks soon. They're saying we're in for an El Nino year in CA. Can you say UH OH?

  • Olde Dame Penniwig

Dearie, I have one of those water-proof cars. I have to, what with the water-pouring tendencies and also the problem of having the window open in the rain sometimes. However, I found out it isn't near as waterproof as what they said.

  • LADY JANE'S EMPORIUM

LOL Penniwig...and I love the fairies!

  • ByLightOfMoon

Oh Dame! What a funny spirit you are, Great Idea next time I forget my water I carry. I used to walk around my house as a kid balancing a cup of ice water on my head and I got pretty good. This way Mom could not say, " NO More Ice" as they came in the old metal trays then. LOL! :-)

I adore your mermaids and fairies, they are in my spirit too. Of course I will saave them , I also adore your they were once catapillars up on top left also!

    Thanks and Smiles, Cyndi

Oh Dearie...I feel so bad for you in that heat! I for one can't take the heat, it makes me nauseous and sick! I hope you get some relief soon. Maybe you can take a fancy bandana or large kerchief, soak it in water, freeze it, then tie around your neck??? Less messy than the water dumping, and would keep your car a little dryer:)Not sure how long it would stay frozen though in those temps. Do you have AC in your house? If so, stay home and send someone else on your errands, lol!!!

  • ClassyChassy

I could not take those temps for long...Recently it has been about 75 degrees here, and that's just fine with me!!!

  • Sarah

You have quite a unique way of beating this TX heat! Never thought of that one...probably won't try it...would short out the seat and zap me!!
This mermaid looks like she has life figured out. She looks so cool and dreamy. Beautiful graphics!!

    Hello Penniwig,
I love the floating flowers they are so cool and it's great they don't seem to mind what your doing they just float along minding their own business....lol (how did you do that?) or what script did you use?
I love your site it's so cool and your vintage images are great too. I love to seeing them they remind me of my childhood we had some nursery rhyme books that had those little cuties in them. I think I found some on Flickr a while back and saved them I'll have to dig them out and share them. Have a great weekend
